Don't throw away your hardware
No bottlenecks
If you’re given the task of improving performance from your relational database there are a few avenues available. But they all require compromise. With Ancelus, you can all but eliminate the primary relational bottlenecks and design constrictions.
Here’s how the two approaches to performance improvement compare:
| Relational solution | Ancelus approach |
|---|---|
| Index some or all of the database (with all the headaches that entails) | Data is always indexed, without performance penalty |
| Restructure or denormalize the data | Data always appears both normalized and denormalized, at the same time |
| Buy more disks, memory, CPU power or other hardware | Even with a low transaction volume, the speed and space efficiency of Ancelus will allow a given application to be supported on a much smaller (cheaper) computer |
Spend less
The unique architecture of Ancelus shrinks the size and number of servers required to address a specific application. With a four to six order of magnitude increase in speed, you can accomplish any given task on a much smaller computer. Column level locking allows multiple users access to the same table without a collision, as long as they are interested in different columns.
With latency measured in microseconds, user response is unparalleled. Pipeline application design (continuous operation) is now feasible for any system. The number of users per server is limited only by the communication bandwidth of the computer; the database is no longer a factor. Supported users can increase by between 10 and 100 times.
The combined savings mount up, in terms of procurement costs, design simplicity, speed of application delivery, and total cost of ownership. We’ll help you integrate Ancelus into your existing infrastructure.
